FAQs

Real help. Real understanding.

At Shomati, we know that supporting widows means more than writing a check or delivering a box of groceries.

It means showing up—consistently, quietly, and with care.

Shomati is a hands-on, heart-first organization supporting widows where it matters most.

Whether it’s fixing a broken cabinet, easing the financial burden before Yom Tov, or simply providing a listening ear, we’re here.

Because no woman should carry it all alone.

Shomati was born from first-hand experience.

It started with yesomim who watched their mothers struggle with burdens no one else saw. They realized that while some needs were being met, many were left unspoken and unmet. So they stepped in to fill the gap with compassion, practicality, and quiet dignity.

We take care of the little things that make a big difference.

Fixing what’s broken in the home. Building the sukkah before Sukkos, and kashering the kitchen before Pesach. Helping with simcha expenses and covering repair bills.

From the day-to-day to the significant milestones, Shomati stands with each almana, listening, supporting, and helping with whatever she needs.

Shomati operates under the guidance of Rav Avrohom Hirsh Wosner shlit”a of Monsey and with the support of local rabbanim in the communities we serve. Shomati has grown into a trusted resource for widows across New York, offering strength, stability, and support.
